We realise that scheduled maintenance and regular updates can interrupt day to day activities for our customers. To minimise these disruptions we are introducing a new concept called “Update Tuesdays”.
Due to the nature of the web hosting industry we are often called upon to install regular software updates to our infrastructure. These essential maintenance tasks continue to ensure optimum performance and security for all of our customers.
The concept of “Update Tuesdays” means all scheduled maintenance and updates in the future will be performed on Tuesday nights and in the early hours of Wednesday mornings sometime between 8pm and 8am ONLY when updates are required. “Update Tuesdays” will not happen every Tuesday and may only last a few minutes, not the full 12 hour maintenance window.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR CUSTOMERS?
We ask that you do not schedule any major updates or tasks to your website or web hosting service between 8pm Tuesdays and 8am Wednesdays.
Your web hosting service could go offline at some point during a scheduled “Update Tuesday”.
Sending or receiving emails during this time may also be delayed.
Your email client or program may not be able to connect to the mail server.
WHAT ARE UPDATES FOR & WHY DO WE NEED THEM?
Systems and devices need the latest updates to ensure system integrity and security.
Updates and maintenance can mean an upgrade to the system hardware to further advance the performance of the system.
Updates can also provide new features, functionality and advancements to your service.
In the event of emergency maintenance situations where immediate attention is required, maintenance times may fall outside of “Update Tuesday”.
